Energetic Cleansing

We know that cleanse means to make something clean, to rid something of dirt and impurities. We know we should keep ourselves and our environment physically clean to promote good health. Sometimes our environment and our mind, body and spirit can benefit from an energetic cleanse. Our environment can affect how we feel and function. Have you ever experienced that sensation when the atmosphere in a room feels negative, unpleasant or just wrong? Have you ever experienced a low mood after being around certain people? 

We are all surrounded by an invisible energy field or aura and we are constantly exchanging energies with our environment and the people around us. Spaces, objects and our own aura can pick up the energy of other people. Sometimes these energies are less than positive and can leave us feeling stressed, anxious, lethargic or moody. When we pick up on other peoples negative energy, bad mood, anger, sadness or lack of motivation, it can affect the way we personally feel and interact. Performing an energetic cleanse is a powerful way to ensure we stay in our own energy. 

Performing an energetic cleanse of our physical space and our mind, body and spirit can help clear negative energies and promote positive energy. Energetic cleansing or purification is the clearing out and releasing of energy that no longer serves us an unwanted energy or energy that is negative, stale, or stagnant. 

Some say energetic cleansing should be part of your regular routine. When we regularly cleanse a space its harder for negative energy to enter and easier to cleanse if bad energy occurs. 

We would certainly benefit from a cleansing ceremony or ritual when things feel off, in order to freshen and clear out old energies, to make room for new and make space for fresh energy to enter. 

 

When to perform a cleansing ritual;

  • After illness to physically rid self and objects of germs but also energetically to release emotions associated with illness
  • After an argument or unpleasant conversation
  • After a stressful time/experience
  • Before and after performing magick, witchcraft, ritual, spellwork
  • Before visitors to protect your space and afterwards to clear out energy they brought with them

    • Scented and coloured candles
    • Essential oil room mist
    • Oil burners with essential oils and wax melts
    • Salt 
    • Crystals
    • Sound 
    • Bath or shower 
    • Visualisation and intention
