Firstly it is not a spelling mistake. I prefer to use Magick to differentiate from the English dictionary definitions of Magic as tricks, illusions or supernatural in nature. To me magick is not an illusion or a trick, as that implies it is not real. I think of Magick as being part of the natural world. Magick is working with natural forces rather than attempting to create change by going against natural forces.
I believe everything has an energy and we can tap into energies to help us enhance our own ability to create change through the use of our own energy and will. If we actively use and direct energy towards an outcome it is more likely to come to fruition.
People say they don’t believe in magic, yet those same people practise magic to some degree. Kissing it better when a child falls and grazes their knee, touching wood for luck and who can resist tossing a coin into a wishing well ? If we want a new job and toss a coin into a wishing well and do nothing else it is unlikely we will get a new job. So it would appear that it is superstitious nonsense. However if you actively engage with universal energies you can use them to help create a desired outcome.
Using magick does not relieve us of responsibility or accountability quite the opposite. Using magick involves taking personal responsibility, taking control and actively bringing about change.
So as well as tossing a coin into a wishing well other steps have to be taken and magick can help empower you to carry out the necessary steps.
Magick is not something outside of our everyday lives it should be part of our everyday lives. We can use it to help us understand ourselves better, to make personal change, to find inner peace, happiness and for personal healing.
Magick has come to be seen as something supernatural that belongs in the realm of mystery, witches and sorcerers but it belongs to us all. If I am labelled as a witch for using herbs, crystals and other natural objects to help me feel self-empowered, to better myself and the world around me that’s okay with me.
“Bringing witchy self-empowering magick to everyday living” can only be a positive thing in a world that has lost its magick.
